Perfect for my new kitten!
This DIY playpen is exactly what I needed. It was surprisingly easy to put together, though you do need to make sure the panels click all the way into the connectors (as the instructions suggest). I used it to create a safe, temporary space for my new kitten while I'm at work. It's sturdy enough that he can't push it over, and the modular design meant I could shape it perfectly for the corner of my living room. Highly recommend for small pets!
Good value, but assembly takes patience
The quality of the materials is excellent for the price. The metal frame feels robust and the plastic panels are thick. My only complaint is the assembly. It took me nearly an hour to build the full enclosure because inserting the panels deep into the plastic connectors requires quite a bit of force and careful alignment. Once built, it's very stable and looks neat, but be prepared for a minor workout during setup.
Versatile and easy to clean
I bought this to keep my two guinea pigs contained during floor time. I love that I can adjust the size and shape instantly. The plastic panels wipe clean easily, which is a huge plus for small animal messes. The connectors hold up well, and I appreciate the rust-proof metal frame feature. Fantastic product for pet owners who need flexibility.
Decent, but gaps are still noticeable
The product works as a basic playpen, but despite following the instructions to push the panels 'into the very bottom of the connectors,' there are still small gaps. My smaller dwarf hamster could potentially squeeze through if I wasn't careful, so I had to reinforce the bottom with cardboard. It's stable and the materials are good, but the 'minimal gap' promise wasn't fully met for very tiny pets.
Great modular system for puppies
We used this to section off a part of the kitchen for our new Labrador puppy. The height is good, and he hasn't managed to knock it down yet. The ability to fold it down when not in use is a major selling point. Four stars because the included mallet was pretty useless; I had to use my own rubber mallet to ensure the panels were seated correctly and the structure was truly rigid.
Excellent quality and truly rust-proof
I needed an enclosure that could handle occasional dampness as I sometimes use it on my balcony. The rust-proof claim seems accurate so far. The panels are sturdy and the connectors are robust. It functions perfectly as a secure boundary. Very happy with this purchase; it exceeded my expectations for a DIY system.
Works, but not for climbers
I bought this for my mischievous ferret. While the assembly was straightforward and the pen is stable, the connectors offer small footholds, and within a day, he figured out how to climb the corners and escape. If you have a pet that likes to climb or jump, this might not be high enough or smooth enough to deter them. Good for rabbits or non-climbing small dogs, though.
Flexible design is a winner
The best part about this playpen is the flexibility. I started with a square, then converted it into a long narrow barrier, and now it's an L-shape. The panels and connectors make reconfiguration very simple. It’s a great solution for temporary pet management. Knocked off one star because the plastic panels scratch easily if a dog tries to paw at them.
Sturdy and aesthetically pleasing
Unlike some wire cages, this playpen actually looks quite nice in my apartment. The semi-transparent panels are clean and modern. It feels very sturdy once all the connectors are locked in place. My bunny loves his new expanded space, and I love that it keeps him away from the wires and furniture. Excellent product design!
